NpmRegistry

A minimal npm registry client: abbreviated package metadata plus integrity-checked tarball downloads. Tarballs are cached by integrity hash, so reinstalls and other projects are free; metadata is cached with its ETag and revalidated, so an unchanged package costs a 304. Scoped packages go to their scope's registry, and credentials only go to the hosts they name.

Installs nite.json dependencies into a regular node_modules folder, so esbuild, TypeScript and editors all find packages the usual way. Resolution is recorded in nite.lock.json; with a current lockfile an install never asks the registry for metadata.

SemVerRange

An npm version range: ^1.2.3, ~1.2, >=1 <2, 1.x, 1.2.3 - 2, * and || unions of those. Prerelease versions only match when a comparator in the same set names a prerelease on the same major.minor.patch, as in node-semver.

SemVersion

A semantic version, compared per semver 2.0 (build metadata is ignored).
